The Alaska State Council: Serving Human Resources Professionals in the 49th State

Welcome to the Alaska State Council's web page. We serve human resources professionals from Juneau to Barrow. Being a HR professional in the largest state in the United States can have some unique challenges. We are here to provide opportunities for you to network with SHRM members throughout Alaska and colleagues in the Pacific Northwest and other Lower 49 States.

The purpose of the Council is to promote the educational and other non-profit purposes of SHRM by providing a structure for our members to consult together concerning the various activities, needs and challenges of SHRM members in Alaska. We also serve as a communication link for our members to SHRM and NHRMA as well as the various SHRM Chapters within the State.

We currently support four chapters and a student chapter within the State as well as all of the SHRM at-large members living and working in locations not represented by a SHRM Chapter.
