Ren’ee has been an item writer of SHRM’s Assurance of Learning Assessment for two years. Ren’ee is the Lead Instructor, Advisor, and Adjunct instructor for the HR program at Lake Washington Institute of Technology (LWIT). She is also the advisor for the SHRM Superior Merit award winning Student LWIT SHRM chapter. Ren’ee also develops and instructs at Bellevue College.

Ren’ee has been active in the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM) and Northwest Human Resources Management Association (NHRMA) for over 20 years. Ren’ee is President of the NHRMA.   She served three additional years as VP and Provisional Development Director. Ren’ee served three and a half years as the SHRM WA State College Relations Director. She has served in various positions with the 1000+ member Lake Washington Human Resource Association board including Director of Mentorship, the Director of E-Networks (SHRM Pinnacle-Winning Program), and Director of Legislative Affairs. She has served on the local Puget Sound Hotel Human Resources Association (PSHHRA) board for over five years including President and Vice President. Ren’ee severed four years as the Area College Relations Director for Kiwanis International. She has been recognized as founding college clubs and developing college service and leadership.

Laurie Roe is the Assistant Vice President of Organizational Development for OSU Federal Credit Union, a not-for-profit member owned financial cooperative headquartered in Corvallis, OR. Prior to joining OSU Federal in 2007, Laurie contributed to the HR profession for 20 years in the hospitality and high technology industries. Laurie earned a Master's Degree in Adult Education from Oregon State University and holds a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) certification designation from the Human Resource Certification Institute. Laurie is the past-board president of Job Grower's Inc. (formerly the Enterprise for Education and Employment), Oregon's Region 3 Workforce Investment Board. Rick Howell has 23 years experience as an HR professional. Currently he is the head of Human Capital at Longview Fibre Paper and Packaging, Inc. In this turnaround assignment he is responsible for leading the culture change, succession planning, Fibre University, organizational structure changes, and the talent management process.
 
Mr. Howell’s human resource experience also includes positions at Knowledge Learning Corporation, Columbia Forest Products, Nike, Inc., The Heathman Group, Red Lion and Westin hotel chains. At various points in his career he has specialized in training and development, employee relations, compensation, safety and workers compensation, with titles ranging from Coordinator to Vice President.
 
A frequent speaker at human resource conferences, Mr. Howell has also taught night school for Washington State University, Portland State University, and/or City University for the past twenty years. Rick started the WSU Vancouver HR Student Chapter. He holds BA and MBA degrees from Washington State University and holds certifications of Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Certified Compensation Professional (CCP). He was among the first in the nation to earn the Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) certification in 2004.
 
He has served in various positions with 1000+ member PHRMA (Portland Human Resource Management Association) organization, including President in 2003. He served as the Director of the Oregon State Council in 2007. Rick was elected the Pacific West Region’s Member Advisory Committee’s (MAC) representative for 2008 and 2009. In 2006, he received NHRMA’s Distinguished Member award, and currently sits on the MHRMA Board as the Director of Awards and Recognition. 

Mr. Howell resides in Vancouver, Washington with his wife, Lesa, and two children, Bryce and Nicole. They enjoy traveling, swimming, scuba diving, flying, gardening, skydiving, poker, music, art, and architecture.

Sallie Stuvek, SPHR, has been the Director of Human Resources for the Fairbanks North Star Borough in Fairbanks, Alaska since 2001 where she is responsible for personnel, payroll, benefits and risk management. Sallie has a master’s degree in Human Resource Management from Kennedy Western University and 17 years of human resource experience in the public sector.

Sallie has been a member of SHRM since 2000.  She has served in several capacities on the local SHRM board, including 4 years as president of the Northern Alaska Chapter. She currently is serving as president of the Alaska State Council and currently serves as an active board member for the Salvation Army.

Kelly Cameron, has over 20 years experience as a Human Resources professional. She has been the Human Resources Director since 2001 at Synsor Corporation, a retail wood display design and manufacturing company in Everett, Washington. She was the first HR person for the company since it was established in 1971. Previous employment includes JanSport, Inc., which manufactures and distributes backpacks. During her 11 year tenure there, she created and developed the complete Human Resource function.

Kelly Cameron received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Washington Business School with an emphasis in Human Resources Management. She earned her PHR certification in 1991. She has been active in promoting HR professional development at the chapter, state and regional levels. She served as President of the Snohomish County Human Resource Management Association (SCHRA) for 2 years. She facilitated several of the classes for the HRCI Certification Study Group for Snohomish County. She has held various Board positions on the SHRM Washington State Council and currently serves as State Council Past Director. She also serves as a NHRMA Board Member. She has served on the University of Washington HRM Extension Program Advisory Board since 2004.

Deanna Heinrich is the Regional HR Manager at Fisher Communications, Inc., overseeing their TV and Radio stations in 5 western states, and has held various HR positions in her 23 year career. Deanna is also an adjunct faculty member of Highline Community College teaching a year-long HR Certification course. She has earned her M.A. in Organizational Development from the University of Phoenix, has a B.A. in Political Science from the University of Washington, as well as a certificate in Governmental Leadership from the UW’s Evans School of Public Affairs.  

Besides her role with the NHRMA Board, Deanna is currently serving on the University of Washington Alumnae Board, and the Business-Technology Advisory Committee for Highline Community College.

Alan Cabelly, SPHR, has been a Human Resource Management faculty member at Portland State University (Ph. D., University of Washington) since 1980, teaching all aspects of HRM and Leadership to students and executives both nationally and internationally. His diverse travel and teaching experiences (including Egypt, China, Peru, Russia, Germany, Iceland and Korea) allow him to bring unique approaches to his work.

Alan's SHRM/NHRMA volunteer experience is extensive. He began serving on the NHRMA (then PNPMA) Board of Directors in 1982, and has served in various roles, including President of NHRMA in 2000. Active on the SHRM College Relations Committee, he was on the task force that developed the HRGames, and helped organize the HR Case Competition. Prof. Cabelly has been named SHRM Advisor of the Year, twice Distinguished Member of NHRMA, and earned the Human Resources Award of Excellence from the Portland Chapter of NHRMA/SHRM.

 Jennifer Schwope has worked in the field of Human Resources for over ten years.  She is currently the GSC HR Manager for Avanade Inc, a leading business technology solutions and managed services provider that operates in over 20 countries.  Jennifer is also certified as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and Global Professional in Human Resources (GPHR) through the Human Resource Certification Institute.
 
Jennifer received her Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources from Central Washington University, where she began her involvement in NHRMA and SHRM in 1999.  Since then, she has been a champion of SHRM student programs within her chapter and the state, volunteering as a guest speaker at student chapter meetings and conferences, and assisting with the HR games.  From 2007 to 2009 she served as the Director of Partnerships overseeing sponsorships and vendor relations for the Lake Washington Human Resource Association, SHRM’s largest chapter in Washington State with over 1,300 members.  Then, from 2010-2011 she served as NHRMA's Special Projects Director. She also currently serves on the advisory board for the Lake Washington Institute of Technology HR program.

In her spare time, Jennifer enjoys spending time with her husband, six-year-old daughter and three-year-old son, cooking (not baking), playing poker and singing.

Patty Billingsley, SPHR, CCP  has over 20 years’ experience working in human resources in various industries including K-12 Education, Telecommunications, Healthcare and now Petroleum Distribution.  Patty is currently the Director of Human Resources for Harbor Enterprises, Inc.  In addition to her current role as director, she has held various roles including Personnel Officer, Employment & Retention Specialist, and Benefits and Compensation Manager.

Patty earned her Bachelors’ degree in Business Administration majoring in Human Resources from Washington State University.  She obtained her PHR in 2000 and SPHR in 2010.  Additionally, she is a Certified Compensation Professional.

This is Patty’s second term as NHRMA’s Awards and Recognition Director.  She also assisted NHRMA to coordinate the first HR Foundations Seminar held in Anchorage in 2011.  Patty is an active member of the SHRM Alaska State Council, having served in many capacities including Director and now Secretary / Treasurer.  She is a member of the Anchorage Society for Human Resource Management and is currently a Co-Chair for the NHRMA 2012 Conference & Tradeshow being hosted in Anchorage, Alaska.

Lisa Snively has worked for the state of Oregon for 22 years...most of it in Human Resources.  She is currently the Classification Manager for the Oregon Department of Corrections (ODOC).  The ODOC employs approximately 4500 employees in 14 institutions and central administration.

Lisa has been a member of SHRM for 12 years and is past Director and Foundation Director, as well as the Communications contact for the Oregon State Council.  Lisa served on the 2009 - 2012 Oregon State Council Conference Committees and served as Co-Chair for the 2005 NHRMA Conference.  Lisa is also a member of the Salem SHRMA chapter and served as Treasurer for several years.  She has a BS in Communications (Advertising and PR) and Business from the University of Idaho.  Lisa also serves on the Marion County Compensation Board.

Lisa lives in South Salem with her husband, Craig, Lhasa Poo, Carl and yellow lab, Lizzy.  Her son Michael is an engineer working in Massachusetts.

Dayna is a Human Resources Manager/Consultant at The Everett Clinic.  Her 23 years of experience includes employee relations, policy development; HRIS design and implementation, process improvement using LEAN principles; recruitment/selection; compliance and training. 

Dayna holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration with Human Resources emphasis.   She received her PHR certification in 1999, and SPHR certification in 2004.  Active in the local HR community, Dayna has held multiple board positions in the Snohomish County Chapter of SHRM for nine years.  During her time as president, the chapter received the Randy Lundberg Northern Lights Awards for their community outreach program, Seasons of Giving.  She also served on the board of SHRM’s Washington State Council from 2004 to 2010 in various roles.  Dayna co-chaired the NHRMA Regional HR Conference in 2011.

Lisa is a Sr. HR Generalist with The Boeing Company.  Her 15 years of HR experience includes employee relations, HR program management, M&A, succession planning, and talent development.  She earned her MBA from George Fox University and her BS in Business Administration from California State University, Chico.  She holds her SPHR and GPHR certifications from Human Resources Certification Institute. 

She has been an active SHRM volunteer at the chapter, state, regional and national levels since 1997.  She currently serves as the College Relations Director on the Washington State Council and is a member of the Lake Washington Human Resources Association.  She served on the Washington State Council as the Legislative Conference Director from 2006-2009, and continues to be a Committee member. She previously served on the NHRMA Board as Foundation Director from 2007-2010.  In 2005, Lisa was Co-Chair of the NHRMA Regional Conference in Sunriver, OR and also served on the Regional Conference committees in 2007 and 2011.   While in Oregon, she held Board positions in the Salem Chapter including Membership Director, Programs Director, President-Elect, President and Past-President.

In 2007, Lisa received NHRMA's Distinguished Member Award.  In 2005, she received the Atkinson Graduate School of Management HR Person of the Year Award, recognizing her for exceptional mentoring and coaching of Willamette University students who were pursuing careers in human resources.  Lisa continues to follow her passion and volunteer in her local HR community on a variety of projects, along with mentoring students.
 


Alaska State Council

Patty Hickok, SPHR, GPHR

Patty is the Director of HR Process Improvement at NANA Development Corporation and an adjunct professor at Alaska Pacific University. She has been involved with SHRM since 2001, and has held the top 3 SHRM leadership positions in Alaska:  as a two-term President of the University of Alaska Anchorage SHRM Student Chapter (2001-03), President of the Anchorage SHRM (2008) and now as Director of the Alaska SHRM State Council.

She has been involved with and recognized by NHRMA over the years, with the Robert N. Denomy Award for Student Leadership in 2003, Distinguished Member Award in 2011 and the Randy Lundberg Award to the Anchorage chapter for two of her initiatives (2007 and 2010).
 

Patty’s passion is education and certification. She holds four degrees (including an MBA) from the University of Alaska Anchorage. In her HR leadership role, she has instituted practices at the Anchorage chapter and at the state level to offer either complimentary or affordable HRCI pre-approved programs for the Alaska members. She has been a Board Member of the Anchorage chapter since 2003 in roles including Diversity and Programs & Seminars. She also serves on the Untwisted Tongues Toastmaster Club as the Vice President of Public Relations and as a social media volunteer for Friends of Pets.
Patty is originally from Mazatlán, México and has lived in Alaska since 1995.
 


Oregon State Council

Randall P. Sutton

Randy is a shareholder with the SAALFELD GRIGGS business law firm in Salem, Oregon. Randy advises management with regard to difficult employee relations issues. He also assists employers in complying with state and federal employment laws and defends employers against claims by current and former employees. Randy represents employers before administrative agencies and in state and federal court. He has handled a wide variety of harassment, discrimination and retaliation cases alleging violations of age, sex, disability, race, family leave, national origin, and other laws. He also defends employers against wage & hour, breach of contract and other employment-related claims. In addition to defending employers, Randy has successfully prosecuted claims by employers against competitors and former employees for misappropriation of trade secrets and violation of noncompetition and nonsolicitation agreements.   A frequent public speaker on employment legal issues, Randy began his career as a personnel analyst for the City of San Diego. He now leads the firm’s employment law and litigation practice group. The firm focuses its practice on providing businesses with innovative and practical legal solutions. Randy is admitted to practice law in both Oregon and Washington and assists clients across Oregon and Washington.  Randy has served for many years as the SHRM Oregon State Council Legislative Affairs Director. He also serves on the Associated Oregon Industries Employment Practices Steering Committee and is the Past President of the Job Growers tri-county workforce investment board.
